Unofficial Snapchat 6snap Is Now Available For Windows Phone

Developed by Rudy Huyn, the mind behind 6tag and 6sec, also very popular unofficial apps for Instagram and Vine, 6snap has been in the works for the last few weeks. Today, the app is available to all with Windows Phone 8 devices and it does not disappoint.

Looking through the Windows Phone Store today will alert you to the fact that there doesn't appear to be unofficial Snapchat apps available for consumers to download. 6snap, arguably one of the most popular third-party apps for Windows Phone, has also disappeared. The developer, Rudy Huyn, took to Twitter to confirm that the app (among others) have indeed been pulled.

Unofficial Snapchat 6snap is now available for Windows Phone

6snap is an unofficial app for Snapchat developed by Rudy Huyn. The app allows you to share pictures and videos with Snapchat users, post snaps with story, draw and add text to your pictures, use custom ringtones, take screenshots, save pictures and a lot more.

Surface RT -> Support dropped almost immediately.Surface Pro 3 -> Have one for work, was a sales pitch to get me hired. Now several people have those or SP4 in the company.SurfaceBook -> Yep, I have one... expensive model too. Windows Phone 7 -> Several models (I have teenagers and a wife, never would buy them Droid or Apple phones). Updates to 7.0 -> 7.1 -> 7.5 went mostly smooth though I did have to use some of the hacks out there to get it timely. Then came 7.8.. you just left many models in the dust (I used the hack app available at the time to upgrade, but not everybody is me). Then you dropped that phone because you revamped with 8.0 and I mostly understood, hardware took a big turn and the 7.x models really could not support the new OS.Windows Phone 8 -> Again, several models. By this point all of my teens have their own phone and so does my wife. Actually loved it, bought some HTC models and such and then bought a lot of Nokia models when they came out (920/925/1020/1520) and loved those. Then came the work toward Windows 10.. so app developers dropped like flies. Lost the Chase app which I loved using. Didn't get other apps that others would get on Droid or iOS. Looked forward to those phones (as they are all plenty spec heavy) getting Windows 10 and FINALLY getting apps... then yesterday happen.

Snap! 4.0, released May 1, 2015,[6] was a complete rewrite in JavaScript, to run in a browser because teachers had complained that their schools wouldn't let them download software.[citation needed] Development started in 2011, about the same time that the Scratch Team started working on Scratch 2.0.[7] They, too, wanted to run in a browser. One difference between the two projects was that Scratch chose to use Adobe Flash, whereas Snap! was built around HTML5 Canvas. Both teams knew that Flash was a moribund technology,[citation needed] and Canvas just beginning, but the Scratch Team felt that they couldn't afford to lose access to the user's camera and microphone, and the ability to use the MIDI musical instrument timbres.[citation needed] None of those were available in HTML5 and JavaScript in 2011. By contrast, the Snap! team, with no budget and one developer, needed 4.0 to be on a platform that would last a long time. BYOB3 was based on the Scratch 1.4 source code, but Snap! is entirely separate from Scratch 2.0 and later.
